Seonghoon Park

S. Park received the Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from Yonsei University, Seoul, South Korea, in 2025, where he also earned the B.S. degree in Computer Science and Engineering. His research interests include on-device AI, mobile immersive computing, and energy-aware mobile systems. He received the Best Paper Award at ACM MobiSys 2025.
Haihan Nan

H. Nan received the Ph.D. degree in Communications and Information Systems from Xidian University, China, in 2024, and the B.Sc. degree in Communication Engineering from Xidian University in 2018. His research interests include machine learning, spectrum sensing, and large language models.
Karim Said

Karim Said received the B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Mansoura University and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Virginia Tech.
Now, he works as a postdoc in ECE. His current research interests include waveform design for ultra-reliable low latency communications, multi-mode fiber communications and statistical learning theory.
Haitham Abdelhafez

Haitham Abdelhafez received the Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, USA, in February 2026. His research interests include 6G networks, machine learning for wireless systems, fog/edge/cloud computing, quantum computing and quantum communication, device-to-device communication, the Internet of Things, dynamic network slicing, integrated sensing and communication, satellite-terrestrial edge computing networks, and covert communication.
Yibin (Donald) Liang

Yibin Liang received the M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Tech, and he is currently pursuing the Ph.D. degree with the Wireless@Virginia Tech and the Multifunctional Integrated Circuits and Systems (MICS) research groups in ECE.
His current research interests include information theory, communication networks, machine learning, VLSI, and future intelligent computing systems. Yibin is a receipt of 2020 Qualcomm Innovation Fellow and spent his summer of 2021 in the Standards and Mobility Innovation Lab of Samsung Research America.

His current research interests include machine learning, wireless communications and neuromorphic computing.

Mahfuzur Rahman

Mahfuzur Rahman received his B.S. degree from Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology (BUET), Dhaka, Bangladesh and dual M.S. degrees in Electrical & Computer Engineering and Physics both from Michigan Technological University (MTU), Houghton, MI in 2016. He has worked as RF Engineer for over 10 years globally.
His current research interests are in the broad area of wireless communications, Non-Terrestrial Network, and machine learning.
Usama Saeed

Usama Saeed received his BE degree in Electrical Engineering from the National University of Science and Technology in 2019. He is currently pursuing the Ph.D. degree in Computer Engineering within Wireless@VT in ECE.
His research interests lie in the broad area of wireless communications, channel estimation and system prototyping with Software Defined Radios (SDRs).

Ramin Safavinejad received his B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Iran University of Science and Technology and his M.S. degree in Communication Systems from Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, Iran.
He ECE in Spring 2022 to pursue his PhD as a member of Wireless@VT. His current research include 5G and beyond communication networks and systems, wireless scheduling, reinforcement learning and statistical learning theory.

Shadab Mahboob received his B.Sc. degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology (BUET), Dhaka, Bangladesh in 2017 and M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), Troy, NY in 2021.
He joined Wireless@VT research group in ECE as a Ph.D. student from Spring 2022. His research interests broadly include 5G networks, optimization and machine learning.
Ibraheem Alturki

Ibraheem Alturki received his B.S. degree in electrical engineering from King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and earned his M.S. degree in electrical engineering from the Viterbi School of Engineering at the University of Southern California (USC), Los Angeles in 2016 and 2020 respectively.
He worked for several years as a faculty member at King Saud University. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. degree in ECE.

Ummay Sumaya Khan received her B.Sc. degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology (BUET), Dhaka, Bangladesh in 2017 and her M.S. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Florida (UF), Gainesville, FL in 2023.
Her research interests include deep learning, machine learning, neuromorphic computing and their applications in MIMO wireless communications, and FPGA implementation.

Junkai Lu received the M.Sc. degree in Communication Engineering from Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, during 2024–2025, and the B.Eng. degree in Electronic and Electrical Engineering from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC) during 2020–2024. His research interests focus on machine learning for wireless systems, with experience in mmWave radar recognition and power allocation optimization for power-domain NOMA.

He is currently working under the supervision of Dr. Lingjia Liu at Virginia Tech. His research interests include machine learning and wireless communications.
Ryan Frost

Ryan Frost received the B.S. degree in Engineering from James Madison University, Harrisonburg, VA, in 2024. His research interests include autonomous UAV mission planning, machine learning, and digital twin modeling. He has industry experience Intern at Two Six Technologies, Software Engineer Intern at GDIT.
Bradley Comar received the M.Eng. degree in Electrical Engineering from MIT, Cambridge, MA, in 2000, and the B.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from MIT in 1995. His research interests include machine learning and advanced communication systems. He has conducted RF and communications research for the U.S. Department of Defense since September 2009, with prior roles at MITRE Corporation, Practical Imagineering Inc., and BBN Technologies, spanning modem design, MIMO systems, signal processing, and mobile networking. He is an inventor on U.S. Patent No. 11,265,012, “Method of Secure Communication Using Low-Density Parity Check Coding” (March 1, 2022).
